    DVM

    Dr. Willhite grew up in upstate New York on a rural dairy farm, the only girl of four children. She graduated from high school in 1991 and then attended the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 1995 she graduated from R.T.I. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biotechnology. During her undergraduate career she received many honors including all four years on Dean's List, Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society and the Baldwin Scholarship for excellence in Science. She continued her education at Cornell University studying veterinary medicine and graduated with highest honors (including awards for excellence in small animal internal medicine and large animal surgery) in 1995. Immediately after graduating from Cornell she moved to Atlanta and has been practicing small animal medicine at VCA Pets are People, too ever since. Her personal hobbies are mountain biking, hiking, camping, and motorcycling. Her professional interests include pain management, dermatology, anatomy, nutrition and soft tissue surgery. "Taking care of my patients brings me great joy. I love to strengthen the client patient bond and feel that it is a sacred and heart warming." .

  • Matthew Roper

    DVM

    Dr. Roper graduated from the University of West Georgia with a BS in Biology and graduated veterinary school at the University of Georgia in 2007. His professional interests include orthopedics, surgery, neurology and emergency medicine. When he is not at work, he spends his time staying active and being with his wife and two pets, Charlotte, the Weimaraner, and Cleo, the Domestic Medium Hair cat. "I enjoy being an advocate for the animals and making sure someone has their best interests at heart.".

  • Patricia Casteel

    Dr. Casteel earned her undergraduate in Bio Medical Science from Texas A&M, she also recieved a Masters Degree in Public Health and graduated veterinary school at the University of Georgia. Her interests are dermatology, internal medicine and Public Health. When Dr. Casteel is not at the clinic she shares her home with her fiance Andy and her dog Shadow. "My favoite thing to do is talk to pet owners about how they can improve their pet's quality of life and give them all the information needed to help them have a lifelong bond".
